On Friday 16th of October 30 cubs and 10 beavers set off to Crawfordsburn for a weekend camp. The weather was great. On the Friday evening everyone unpacked in their rooms, we had a little talk about our programme, a few games then bed. On Saturday morning after breakfast we left for Cultra where we explored the folk half of the museum. The sweet shop was well used as well as a varied pack lunch. We then returned to camp to participate in a Jamboree on the Air where the cubs had the chance to speak to other scouters in different countries by radio then after an enjoyable tea we had our superheroes party then straight to our outdoor campfire where the pack learned new songs. Everyone crawled into their bunks exhausted. |
On Sunday after breakfast we attended Cubs Own at our outdoor chapel. We then split for activities. These were sky walking and crate climbing both expertly supervised by wardens. Finally, we had our annual walk to the beach where we built sandcastles and skimmed stones. After lunch a very weary pack and leaders boarded the train for home. My thanks to my leadership team and to the pack for maintaining the high standard of behaviour which we are known for. Yours in scouting Brian, Akela |
